Eden Sanaa Smith is has yet to reach her teens, and already she has been an active part of the Broadway & NYC music community. A multiple award winner for her breakout role in August Wilson's "Fences" and her portrayal of Young Nala in "The Lion King," Ms. Smith is a dedicated young performer with tons of talent & energy to spare. As a friend to Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre, she was asked to take part in a musical tribute to the late great Nick Ashford (of Ashford & Simpson) at the annual 'Teer Spirit Awards' for excellence in Black music, culture, and social activism. Check out her rendition of the Chaka Kahn hit, "I'm Every Woman;" Valerie Simpson was in attendance that evening, and was truly touched by this bright young star. Enjoy!
